Getting Started

1. Registration Process

Step 1: Visit the Seller Registration page

Step 2: Fill in your business information (business name, type, contact details)

Step 3: Upload required documents (CAC certificate, valid ID)

Step 4: Submit your application

Step 5: Wait for approval (2-3 business days)

Step 6: Receive approval email with login credentials

2. Setting Up Your Seller Account

Once approved, log in to your Vendor Portal and:

  • Complete your business profile
  • Add your bank account details for payments
  • Set up your store information
  • Upload your business logo
  • Configure shipping preferences

3. Understanding Your Dashboard

Your seller dashboard provides:

  • Overview: Sales statistics, pending orders, revenue
  • Products: Manage your product listings
  • Orders: View and process customer orders
  • Earnings: Track commissions and payouts
  • Analytics: Sales reports and performance metrics

Listing Products

Product Information Requirements

Product Title

  • Clear and descriptive (50-100 characters)
  • Include brand, model, and key features
  • Example: "Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB - Phantom Black"

Product Description

  • Detailed description (minimum 200 words)
  • Include specifications, features, and benefits
  • Mention what's included in the package
  • Add warranty information

Product Images

  • Minimum 3 high-quality images (1000x1000px or higher)
  • White or neutral background preferred
  • Show product from multiple angles
  • Include close-ups of important features
  • No watermarks or promotional text

Pricing

  • Set competitive prices (research similar products)
  • Consider the 10% platform commission
  • Offer discounts for bulk purchases if applicable
  • Update prices regularly based on market trends

Inventory Management

  • Keep stock levels accurate and updated
  • Set low stock alerts
  • Mark items as out of stock when necessary
  • Update inventory after each sale

All product listings are reviewed by our team before going live. This usually takes 24-48 hours.

Managing Orders

Order Processing Workflow

New Order Notification

You'll receive email and dashboard notifications for new orders. Review order details immediately.

Confirm Order

Verify product availability and customer details. Confirm the order within 24 hours.

Package the Product

Pack items securely with proper protection. Include invoice and any promotional materials.

Handover to Logistics

Our delivery partner will pick up the package. Provide tracking information to the customer.

Track Delivery

Monitor delivery status. Be available for customer inquiries during transit.

Order Completion

Once delivered, the order is marked complete. Your commission is calculated and scheduled for payout.

Handling Returns & Cancellations

Cancellations: If a customer cancels within 1 hour, process the cancellation immediately.

Returns: Accept returns within 14 days if the product is defective or not as described.

Refunds: Process refunds within 48 hours of receiving the returned item.

Payments & Commissions

Commission Structure

DropCart Africa charges a 10% commission on each sale. This covers:

  • Platform usage and maintenance
  • Payment processing
  • Customer support
  • Marketing and promotion
  • Logistics coordination

Payout Schedule

Frequency: Weekly (every Friday)

Minimum Payout: ₦10,000

Payment Method: Direct bank transfer

Processing Time: 1-2 business days

Seller Policies

Prohibited Items

Quality Standards

  • All products must be authentic and as described
  • Products must be in new or clearly stated condition
  • Accurate product information is mandatory
  • Proper packaging to prevent damage during shipping

Performance Metrics

Maintain good standing by meeting these standards:

  • Order Fulfillment Rate: Minimum 95%
  • Response Time: Within 24 hours
  • Customer Rating: Minimum 4.0 stars
  • Return Rate: Below 5%
